Clicking noise with ac

Is the clicking noise coming from the dashboard area? if so you most likely have a blend-door actuator or fan problem. could be failing or even have something stuck in it - items on the floorboard like plastic bags can get sucked into them at times

Yes it's coming from my dashboard first on the passenger side only now the passenger side then it stops and a louder faster clicks starts on the driver side stops all together after 10 minutes . Should I just go to a place that is telling me they would have to take it apart and could be 200 just to take apart. Once they take it apart they are saying then they could see what it is and talk pricing . I'm a female so I'm so confused on how to handle this without paying over 600- 700.00

I would definitely recommend having someone at least diagnose it. I understand your concern about being ripped off - especially as a female, it truly does happen and it unfortunate that people are jerks like that. I would suggest asking a close friend (female) where she has her car serviced and if she trust them - that is the best way to avoid getting ripped off. but you do need someone to diagnose it properly either way. That should be able to be done without tearinf your car apart

Okay thanks for the info. is there no way to get a ball park figure like the most you should pay is ..... Im just freaking out I really appreciate all of your help

I would look for a shop that specializes in car C/C and then look them up and see if they have any good reviews. But remember they control what goes on their website. Perhaps in their experience on working on A/Cs in cars, they can give a quick diagnose and cost estimate. Since the noise has moved, it does sound like there is something in the air lines. Missing an earring? Ok, bad joke. Remember, if you don't get a good feeling about the estimate, and plan to fix it, drive away.

could be loose fan blade on shaft on the motor, the blade is held on with a set screw on the shaft, or maybe something up inside fan housing like leaf or stick also

This is an old post but I might help somebody else with the same problem. It’s a motor actuator. I have a 2010 impala. I’ve had to replace 4 under the dash- one had to be replaced twice. They’re cheap to buy (about $30) and if u are any good with tools, u can save yourself about $100 (non-dealership price) and change most of them yourself. YouTube has plenty of videos to show how.
