Blend door clicking noise

Asked by Sep 05, 2019 at 03:47 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala 2LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I get this noise when I turn OFF the A/C and it lasts for about a minute. I
changed the actuator, ( I know I changed the correct one because the noise
goes away when it is unplugged.) but the noise still exists. Any ideas?

Thanks, Tom

Maybe you changed one actuator and still have one or two bad ones.

I thought of that and that is why I disconnected the the cable from it, but the problem still exists. I did not mention that when I opened the original actuator there were no damaged to the gears at all! Thanks

Again, you have more than ONE blend door. If the actuator you removed showed no defects inside, then that one was probably not the problem. You have one more blend door and you have one blend/mode door that throttles between hot/cold.

Again, when I disconnect the actuator I replaced, The noise disappears under the same parameters.
