2010 Silverado 1500 - TCM

Asked by Chevydude85 Mar 27, 2021 at 10:10 AM about the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The service stabiltrak light is on, no shift
display and getting code U0101 (lost
communication with TCM).  It does shift but
hard.
The truck is in limp mode and seems to be
stuck in 3rd gear.  Running a little rough.
Sounds like cause is TCM failure or some kind
of electrical fault but if anyone can shed some
light or experience with this I would
appreciate it!

Turns out it’s inside the transmission. I ended up bringing it to a shop and they replaced it. $1300. If you’re trying to get at it yourself you have to drop the pan and remove the valve body just to get to it.
