What can be the cause of a strong smell of gasoline in the interior of a 2010 chrysler 300?

This happened to me, it was caused by hairline size cracks in the plastic part of the fuel line at the connection to the engine, this caused a gas leak and the fumes came through my air vents. The fuel line (one long part, metal with attached plastic end) was replaced and problem solved.
