Took my Z4 to my local mechanic I use. He did not have the capability to reset the computer like BMW recommends. Instead of resetting the computer, he made sure the alternator was putting out the correct charge/volts for the new battery. He also made sure the car never lost a charge by hooking up a power pack while he installed the new battery. Worked out fine for me. Saved a few bucks since BMW thinks they are the only ones who can do it.
