Unlocking doors

Asked by mojo636 May 11, 2009 at 07:41 PM about the 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have two problems. First, my brake lights will not turn off. I turn the lights off, nothing, I take the key out, nothing. Any help or suggestions? My first problem has led me to the next. While attempting to trouble shoot the brake light problem, I disconnected the battery. It got dark out and I was tired, so I called it a night. Well, I accidently locked the keys in the car that now has no power so the keypad no longer works. Any suggestions on how to get in my car?

straighten a metal coat hangar and bed it like the diagram the arrow is where you stick it in the door angle it so the bottom where the v is is facing the inside of the door. and as far as the brake lights go, its most likely a faulty brakelight switch located under the dash attached to the brake pedal.

I made like McGiver and fished the hood latch up. Opened the hood, connected the battery and viola! used the keypad to get in...Thanks for the help regardless!! Now on to tackle the brakelight problem...
