Doors unlocking and hazard lights flashing on own

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2011 Ford Taurus is starting to act like it is
possessed.  The keyless entry panel on the side of
door has not worked for awhile.  Several of the
numbers do not work BUT recently we noticed that
#1/2 flashes. Not a constant flashing but does it
enough to say it pretty regularly.  Over the last
month, there has been a couple times I got in the
car and noticed my trunk was open. Now, over
past week I’ve noticed my car doors were unlock
when I know I locked them.  Last night while
driving, my locks started locking and unlocking.
Then they remained unlocked and you could hear
the driver door constantly locking.  You could not
control any door locks while this was happening.
Lasted for 1-2 minutes and then everything
returned to normal. My daughter just came home
and said my hazard lights were flashing.  She
opened the door (unlocked again) and pushed the
door lock button and the hazard lights went off.
Any idea what could be wrong?   Is this going to
cost a ton to fix?  It has 101,000 miles but still runs
great.

We have a 2015 Ford Taurus with 120,000K. It has a battery that keeps failing on us, doors locking and unlocking, and the trunk keeps opening repeatedly on it’s own. Yesterday we got out of the car and shut the door with the keys in ignition and the car locked and then the key pad panel would not work. Of course all of this has been while on vacation 12 hours away from home and 3 calls to AAA. Can’t wait to drop this car off at a dealership tomorrow and then sell it! LAJ
