I agree with tennisshoes, you never know what you got unless you look. You could look up the vin. number, that would tell you also. Probably the most common ratio is 3.73. One way you can figure an idea of what you have would be to lift up a rear wheel, mark it in reference to a stationary point, the same with the drive shaft, rotate the wheel 1 revolution, and count the turns on the driveshaft. Where ever the drive shaft stops, you'll have to judge how far in a circle the mark ended up at, thus 3=full turns of the drive shaft, .73 is where the mark on the drive shaft ended up in a full circle.

Hey Chevyredy, If you take a spray can of brake cleaner and clean off the ring gear, the ratio should be stamped into the gear itself. Hope this helps.

Clean off ring gear and you'll see numbers on the outward edge. For example 41.11 = 41 divided by 11 equals 3.72727273. 41 teeth on ring gear and 11teth on pinion gear

i have a 94 1500, 350 motor, At 64 mph the motor is turning 3000 rpm's, this is in drive and not overdrive, so i went to CALCULATE RPM FOR GIVEN SPEED(MPH), REAR GEAR RATIO, AND TRANS GEAR RATIO @ Pur Performance, pop in the mph, tire circumference and rpm , i guess at rearend ratio , this calculates engine rpm, so i put in i had a 4.10 and it calculated the rpm to be around 3000 . i put in i had a 3.72 and it came out to be around 2700 rpm's, i think this might give you and easy way to guess at it.
