Question type: General

runs well at idle and accelerates well in park. wont shift and sputters and stalls. have to
let foot off accelerator and it will shift. runs well in high gear. no codes. only get 12 code
repeatedly. need help. could it be shift solenoids in trans

funny. noway. like the body style dont want to get rid of it.

no check engine light either. it used to come on few months ago. engine seems to run fine its only when its in gear. rpms will max out have to release accelerator and it will shift and have to do it again. runs well in high gear. will downshift when passing and again have to let off accelerator for it to shift.

tps might be messed up. Does your speedo work? The speed sensor could be a problem as well but if your speedo works then it does. Shift solenoids shouldn't casue this problem. BTW chassy, code 12 on the gm OBD1 means the diagnostic self check is ok. If you dont get code 12 then you have a problem
