problems with obs chevy starting and idle

Asked by ELIJAH Oct 14, 2021 at 11:18 AM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 94 k1500 with a 350 tbi i have been having issues with truck ever
since i hit a bump hard one day and engine died. It has done this twice now
and after it dies it says check gauges and refuses to start until it sits for a
while. Then sometimes it will not start well or at all and falls on its face when
starting occasionally had mechanic look at it said he couldn't figure out whats
wrong because it was too old for his computer so i have just been looking for
a self fix. Another problem i have been having is my truck idles at 1500 rpm
when its in park or neutral not sure of cause. thanks in advance for anyone's
advice to help me get my first truck working again.

Look over the wiring closely for any obvious problems do the same for the under carriage ,, check for motor to chassis ground .
