my 94 capris wagon cuts off when i put it into gear

Starts up fine

have you had a tune-up at all? did they change the sparkplugs? cap and rotor? these have a vacuum advance that could have a faulty vacuum hose...the engine temperature sensor may be telling the computer that the engine is warm already while the ambient sensor is telling the computer that it's cold outside....would check the trouble codes to see which devices are working properly before trying to diagnose your problem, but offhand would say the fuel pressure regulator is faulty, hose fallen off or torn diaprhagm not offering enough fuel pressure to proceed...check it..the supply to it~
