1994 Camaro Z28..

I'm restoring the car and replaced the rear end gearing differential from 2.73
to 3.2, in the original rear axle pumpkin.  When I drive the car in speeds over
40 mph or even up to 70 mph, and I try to glide to deceleration I hear a very
loud whining noise like a jet plane is landing next to me.  As soon as I
accelerate by pressing on the gas slightly the noise goes away.  The person
that did this work for me says this is normal until the gears break in.  Is that
true ??? I need to know as car work is still under warranty

Whining noise during deceleration indicates the pinion-bearing preload is out of adjustment. Google "Pinion Bearing Preload", it's one of the more aggravating and asked about tasks in installing new gears. If it's too loose - whining, and eventually failure of the pinion bearing. Ask your installer to check the adjustment, you should definitely not be hearing a jet plane landing next to you every time you decelerate.
