Water in cargo area. Car has moonroof.

Asked by GuruB7LLC Jan 24, 2019 at 08:50 AM about the 2007 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 Forester with moonroof has water in driver’s side cargo area with each
rain. My mechanic has cleaned out moonroof drains twice in past 6 months.
I don’t see any cargo door seal damage. What could be causing this
problem? I can’t put anything in cargo area.
Thank you

I have had this case on different makes, Chevy Buick, Volvo. The sunroof/moonroof drain holes have a tube connected to them in order to drain the water outside the car. You have to trace the tubes and see where they have snapped out of a fitting or clogged up. start by taking the pillar covers off and see if you can the tubes.
