Possible fixes for water in cylinder
I have a 1999 Subaru Forester. It has a
problem with cooling and I checked the 4
cylinders today to find water in my 4th. I'm
pretty lost as far as possibilities on trouble
shooting. I've heard trying sodium silicate
would be a good start, but I thought I
should get another opinion. Thanks
Cracked head or bad head gaskets Subaru,s eat them alive but there much worst in the last decade, to present then in '99. Check the Subaru forums the most common topic "head gaskets". Regards
Don't put a sealer in especially a Subuaru, you could cause more problems than you have now, there are a lot of smaller coolant passages that sealers can and do plug up, then you have a lot more work to clean it all out during the repairs. Do it right and get the heads fixed.
I agree, likely a head gasket, cracked cylinder head or block. I also agree with tennisshoes, do NOT use any type of sealant in the engine as it may make things worse.
