Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm hoping some one can help me out.I just bought a 2007 dakota a couple of months
ago and have been noticing a shifting problem in the mornings. I have to let the truck
warm up for 5 min or it will not shift out of first gear until it reeaches around 2500 rpms.
Now when its 95 degrees out side it's also have a shifting problem when the engine
temp climbs just a little above the normal line. When I stop at a light it doesn't want to
shift out of first and sometimes second when its supposed to. It will shift when it get to
around 2400 rpm. 4.7L Automatic

Less than getting a new transmission I do have something you can try. No promises but I have used it before and it worked great for me. Add some Lucas Automatic Transmission Fluid Conditioner. It helps to prevent slipping and wear to provide smooth, quiet operation while conditioning seals to extend the life of the transmission.

They also sale a product called Transmission Fix this is the one that I used before and it worked. I thought it was the other one but I am quite sure that one will work also.

Since you already changed the transmission fluid use the Lucas Transmission Fix if you did not already change I would recommend the transmission fluid with conditioner.
