coolant leak

Asked by cyd8 Feb 24, 2017 at 08:35 PM about the 2002 Saturn S-Series 3 Dr SC2 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

coolant light comes on. fill it up and 5-10 miles later its on again and
coolant low. shop said water pump. i replaced that. i still have coolant
leaking from almost dead center of engine. not exactly sure where. looked
at coolant sensor and i dont see it leaking but under car you can see
coolant leaking down from about directly below it.  it doesnt lose coolant
when not running. it starts once car is at norm operating temperature.

May just have to go to a garage and get it up on a hoist to see.

Hate to say it but that sounds like your head gaskets leaking that can be pretty expensive to replace some people just silicone where it's leaking out around the head and then called a day if you want to go on the cheaper fix or you can buy some chemicals to add to your coolant that would help seal it but to do it properly you need to replace the head gasket sounds like that's the problem?
