I had found a part dangling on my '95 Cavalier‏

Asked by TCorey Jul 23, 2015 at 06:15 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had found a part dangling on my '95 Cavalier, and when I took it out and did some
researching, found its the vacuum switch, but I can't find where it goes exactly, I can't
find anything on the internet that shows a definite picture of whats going to and from it
and where its supposed to be bolted. I don't want to start up my car again until I figure out
what it does and where it goes.

you need to look up there and see if there is another one..i dont think so..looks like someone tried to omit it from the system ..so you have no or have ever had a check engine light??

Not really, its actually between the firewall and the engine block, that's a just a general area though that I found

That's a good question. Where...front/rear I have been looking and it resembles EGR vacuum solenoid

I do have a check engine light, its spitting 2 codes, lean conditions and engine misfire, I was about to replace the fuel filters but I don't want to start up the car, I know the tank has a pretty substantial buildup of sludge, and I put in a can of sea foam the other day, trying to clear it out, or most of it at least

Engine is a basic 2.2 liter, the first picture from Kelly helps, but which one out of 7 goes to the part? I can find the one that goes to 5, its the only one, aside from power, that was connected.
