1996 Cavalier spits and sputters then dies then wont start back up for a while

my 1996 cavalier has the ETS light come on then the car starts to spit and sputter then
dies while driving . then it will not start until you let it sit for a while . replaced the spark
plugs and fuel filter . help my only transportation.

Have you checked fuel pressure?Sound,s like a fuel pump going bad.
