97 cavalier electrical issue

I have a 97 cavalier and have been having a very tough time
figuring out why my battery lights come on as well as why
my dash lights and headlights dim when im not
accelerating. I have recently installed a new battery and
alternator. I also have a farad capacitor or stiffening cap
connected to my battery so my stereo doesnt draw directly
from the battery. I never have starting issues but the
battery and alternator arent keeping my car lit.
