I was afraid of that, its never an easy fix! It has about 160,000 miles on it and it belonged to my 17 yr old son before he upgraded and gave it to me. Thank you for your help. Terri

Check for condition of fluid. One simple way to do this is to take a clean white cloth and wipe down the tranny dip-stick. On the cloth you should see mostly lite red color and a small amount of black residue. If there is a substantial amount of black residue you have excessive wear in your tranny. You could have disc's wron out or just plugged tranny filter or both. You can try changing fluid and filter first and go from there.
