My 89 cavalier z24 convertible has the 2.8 multi
port fuel injection, and it was running fine and my
buddy poured a bottle of high octane booster in my

any gas it dies??? Just put in new alternator, spark
plugs, spark plug wires, serpentine belt, water
pump, what can make it do this?

I put on new fuel filter as well trying to see what the problem was, and wgen it dies i can hear the fuel pump whirring for atleast 3 to 5 seconds when the car dies, so i should replace the fuel pump?

Im assuming when my friend poured that stuff in my tank it knocked something loose and clogged the fuel pump?

Fuel pump are pretty pricey and there are a ton of reasons why a car could start then die. I would definitely check the fuel pressure manually first and then you will know for sure if it needs a fuel pump.

Ok now i sound stupid but is there a specific gauge i need to use? Or can i just use a regular tire pressure gauge? It shoots gas out....
