how to change a brake light switch on a chevey lumina

Asked by Jan 16, 2017 at 02:52 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Lumina 4 Dr STD Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It is down on the brake pedal. Just pull it out and put a new one in. The new switch will need to be adjusted properly to work by setting the position of the brake light switch with the jam nuts. The switch in too far and the brake lights come on late, the brake pedal depressed further down the stroke, by backing it off from the brake pedal arm, sooner the brake lights turn on.
