What are the negitives of owning this car? How is the transmition in this car and how hard is it to swap out for a stick?
I have found a 1987 Toyota Celica for sale for cheap. I wanted to know if that year was front or rear wheel drive and how well built is the trainsmition for that year. Also one to know how hard it would be to make a atio to a maniul trainsmition? To help me designed to buy or not to buy the car. Thank you.
Don't bother swapping it for a stick. The Toyota 3S-FE engine and trans combo is one of the best-mated, longest-running engine-trans combos ever. My wife had one that had 250k with a bad trans and still ran when we sold it, and we sold another one with 150k when she wanted something newer, no trans or engine problems at all. If you want a stick, buy a stick, but swapping is much too involved for most.
