The Pontiac sunfire is the only other car of that time that used that same platform that I know of so it should fit in there with minimal issues.

What motor does it have??? I just purchased a used 2.4 Twin Cam for my '98 Cavalier Z24. I know in the 2.4's, mid '99 was a change from EGR to non-EGR engines, or a "T" in the 8th letter of the vin denoted the EGR engines. Matt is right about the Pontiac Sunfire, I'm not sure what else on the 2000 engines, but '97-'99 swaps could be made with the Olds Achieva, Buick Skylark, Pontiac Sunfire. I know you could use a '96 engine in a '97-'99, but had to swap intake systems and that might be the case with the 2000 engines also, but I'm not exactly sure. "Rucko", those engines are worth $400-$750 used, depending on the mileage so no sense in throwing it away!
