sounds like you got a bad coilpack,or crank sensor, the throttle position sensor also could be bad.

the switch doesn't have any power at any setting but asesseries. No gauges in the dash work or anything. But everything comes back on in like five minutes and sometimes it will run for months.

sounds like the switch is bad,not the key switch.take the cover out from around steering collum 2 or 3 screws on bottom of cover, you well see a black box on left side,2 screws and a plug in,replace this switch,it should fix your problem.

Had the same problem with mine and it was the dash cluster that anti theft runs through it.
