Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi All!  I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier this is running hot when I idle and run the
air.  I have checked the coolant level and it's fine.  Any help would be
appreciated!

How hot does it get in degrees F? Does the radiator fan run? If it's overheating, the radiator fan should be running. If the fan isn't running, have to check fan wiring circuits, voltage and ground. Any applicable trouble codes? Check your coolant temp sensor. Some makes and models, if you unplug the cts, the fan may run, it's a default setting. If fan is running, have to check something else, water pump-- thermostat--coolant flow through radiator check with engine cool. Maybe combustion gasses getting into coolant? If you do a lot of driving, idle--slow traffic, it's going to heat up some. Some makes and models have the ability to shut off ac compressor if overheating or too much load on engine. I'm not positive about your vehicle?

Thanks oilyspill! I think it's my blower fan, which only works on the last 2 high settings. I appreciate your help!
