Why did my programmed key only start my car once?

I Ii have a 2006 ford tauras i had to replace the ignition cylinder it came with
keys that i had programmed but the key only worked once and now it wont
start the car again

Then the programming didn’t set. If the security system turned on and the vehicle won’t do anything then call a smart locksmith, they might be able to over ride and reprogram the security to recognize the new key.

Who programmed the keys? On a Ford product you need TWO working keys to be able to program additional keys to the vehicle yourself. With a new lock cylinder the programming needs to be done by your local Ford Dealer or a reputable locksmith. Hope that helps! Jim
