Key stuck in the on position

I have a 2002 Trailblazer and my key is stuck in the ignition, in the on position. My truck is running and the battery cables have been disconnected. But my truck still won't turn off or let my key loose. What do I do?

First, lets get your key out. Look up under the steering wheel column, there will either be a small hole, OR an indentation stamp where a hole is supposed to be. Stick something thin up there to release your key. Next, you probably have a bad ignition switch, which is located on bottom side, near that hole.
* if yours isn't pre-drilled. Carefully drill it out following the stamped circle.
FJ4072, I already tried that and it's not working. My key is still stuck. I think I need to go buy a new ignition switch. Or ignition lock cylinder.
Hmm, can you feel the button engage? Battery terminals good and tight right?
We figured it out. It has nothing to do with power. The ignition key lock cylinder has a flap on it that is getting jammed in a crevice in the lock cylinder housing.
