Hi I just bought a 2003 Chevy impala . my
car starts in the morning when I go to work
and then I turn it off and won't start back up

Is the engine turning over and just not firing up, or do you turn the key and get nothing?

Try changing out your Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. It may be bad causing the computer to run a rich mixture of fuel. That may explain the chugging and stalling out. When you said you keep trying and get nothing, if the car stalled out and you try to start it again, is it totally dead, like the starter is not engaging? Or does the car continue to turn over the engine, and it's just not starting?

If your battery light is coming on, you may have bad battery cables or a bad ground. Have you noticed the battery light coming on while you are driving it?

Try changing out the ECT. Engine Coolant Temp sensor. See if that will at least make it start on the first try.
