Any idea about an after blower feature on 2014 Impala? A blower that stays after turning car off to dry condensation from a/c so it doesn't mildew.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have searched for information on this and I haven't found anything. I was told
that its a setting that has to be turned on by a technician. I live in a state that
the humidity is horrible and they say it was designed for people who live in
areas like this. There is a horrible smell that comes through the vents due to
the mildew. This can't be good to be breathing. Any info would be great!

Try turning AC off a few minutes before you stop, just keep blower running, give the evap core a chance to dry. Check the condensation drain isn't fouled up. You can also use a spray cleaner designed for AC systems, you spray it into the outside air vent in the cowl .

I had a blower installed that keeps running after turning off the car if there is moisture in the air vents. Supposed to keep mildew from forming. I still get another kind of chemical smell though usually when using the air. Had this happen on a Toyota Camry also. I'm so frustrated.
