sounds like auto check fluid level then smell it if its burnt smelling your trans is gone

Yes check level and condition of fluid. Fluid should be pinkish red with little to no brown or black debris on dipstick.

My 2003 chevy cavalier only has reverse and told to look for cable not making contact where do you find wire or cable

Hi my 2005 chevy cavailer did the same thing . I was at walmart I called my brother and he fixed it a tiny thing worn out under shiffter he got it at auto zone hope that helps
