Over heating

05 Chevy trail blazer.  New thermostat,  water
pump and cooling fan.  Mechanic drove it says no
issues.  I picked it up drove 20 minutes home in
highway going 75 mph it over heated.  Needle
buried in the red.  Over flow tank  is now totally full
above full line which it wasn't when I started
driving.

05' should have replaced your temperature sensor which is 2 or 3 inches above the thermostat. Hook up a scanner and read what the REAL temperature is, our gauges are very bad. If indeed still reads very hot, you may have air in your coolant system or blockage in your radiator.
