The side door lock is very sticky and does not work with the electric locks.

Asked by Garts Feb 11, 2009 at 11:35 PM about the 1991 Toyota Previa 3 Dr LE All-Trac AWD Passenger Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The door lock is difficult to move and is way to hard for the electric lock mechanism to operate.  Can someone tell me at least how to get inside of the sliding door to lube it?

remove the inside door panel,(removing the pins and carefully pulling the panel) remove the plastic, place a rag inside the door under the lock mechanism, using brake cleaner, spray all over the lock mechanism, let dry a couple of minutes, then spray lubricant like WD-40, then manually move the interior lock back and fort, and the door handle, then try with the electric lock button. hope this helps.
