What Should I Do With My Money?

I turned 17 July 8 so i’m to young to finance
and can’t get parent help to co sign. I got a
part time job making around $500 a month
and my manager said if when I a car I’ll be
able to get more hours plus a slight raise.
Should I get a 1999 Pontiac with 200k miles
on it for $1000 from a close friend that will
allow me to pay monthly with a small down
payment so I can make and save more? Or
keep the $1000 and keep saving til i’m able to
afford something better or save til i’m old
enough to finance?

A bank might give you a personal loan, but for $1000, you really should pay cash. For a ponitac with that amount of miles on it, you will need a least a thousand to keep it on the road, with brakes and tires, gas, and anything else that breaks. I would wait and keep saving.

If you are old enough to drive now go for it. But don't ever get a ticket or even pulled over for anything.
