Why does my Pontiac Grand am blow out cold air

First question, does your defrost blow hot air, if the anwser is yes then one or more of your blend door may not be opening up, these are located under the dash. If everything is blowing cold then here are three things to look for, do you have enough water in the system to produce heat? Id the thermostat working (Opening Up) is there air in the system, if so you may need to burp the system of air.
