So for the last 2 days my 2002 grand am has been shutting off. I could be getting off the freeway, or at a light. It starts back up but when I shift it drive, it shuts off.

It starts just fine but cuts off after
driving awhile. Keep reving it to keep
from cutting back off, shift into drive
and have to gun it so it wont cut
off. Power stering gets hard when it
shuts off too

Not sure about 2002 but my 2005 Grand Am was recalled to fix the ignition. Call a GM dealer to see if your car is on recall for anything
