Owner's manual should have a list of approved cleaning products, or you can contact the Mitsubishi dealer to see what they have. The product you will use depends on what kind of top it is -- i.e., vinyl vs. cloth. I believe the Eclipse had a cloth top but don't know if vinyl was a lower-end option or not, like it is on the Sebring convertibles. Anyway, Chrysler/Mitsubishi have great cleaning products for their tops available at the dealer for not too much more than aftermarket stuff would cost.

if you live in a place where it snows alot in winter i suggest not letting the snow build up to much on it, it creates alot of weight and can streach the top a little bit

all wrong, the top of a spyder eclipse has inherintly week control arms that bend and poke through top frequently

You're right Evan. I have had the arms in mine replaced by the people I bought it from, within 2 weeks of purchasing it. Mine is a 99 and I bought it in 2001. It still looks brand spankin new. I was told it's a design flaw.
