Asked by Javier May 16, 2018 at 12:17 PM about the 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS Spyder

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I have noticed that my raidiator fans are not working
when the car is in idle or in park so the ac doesn’t work
but when I’m driving down the street the ac is very cold
any way idk if it’s a fuse or the fans them self need help
please

If your radiator fans are not working the car's temperature should be rising above normal. Is this happening? The fans come on when the temperature reaches a certain point, and the temperature sensor sends a signal for the primary fan to start. The secondary fan will start once you turn the a/c on. When the car is standing, the a/c does not engage?

No the temp stays normal when I’m driving but if I’m stopped at a red light or parked the temp starts to rise

In that case you should have the fans checked. You can do this by running a direct wire from the + battery terminal to the fan switch to see if it starts but, unless you have the knowledge, I would leave it to a mechanic.
