what should it cost (approximately) to have a water pump replaced for a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse v6?

Not to sure about that model but if it like most and water pump is driven by timing belt it will not be cheap. Replace both pump and belt at same time. I would say couple hundred for parts if bought at auto parts and another couple hundred for labor. You can buy the parts on line for about half what the stores will charge. And if you try to replace your self be sure the timing belt is timed properly or you will bend your valves. Learned that myself the hard way. Hope this helps
