The plug on my alternator is bad will it hurt my battery to
run it anyway

it will kill your battery if you're not charging it as the engine runs

Lots of bad things can happen - like an electrical fire. At the very least - you'll have a dead battery soon. You can pick up a new Pigtail at NAPA or order one from almost any Auto Parts Retail store - or even on line. OR, you could go to a dismantler and get a used one. Please, for safety's sake - don't drive it.
