Alternator keeps going bad

I have a 92 mercury grand marquis and i
have changed the alternator 3x and it just
went out again what could this be. Please
help

Where do you buy your alternators? A lot of rebuilt alternators are junk in the box.

If you've been using quality alternators, maybe the battery has a short in it. How old is the battery, have it tested.. If you charge it overnight with a charger, the amps should go below 3 amps (well below). If not, the battery is shorted.
