A bad alternator harness may cause the alternator not to charge resulting in the battery running down while the vehicle is running. If you have access to a dc voltmeter you can check the voltage at the battery engine running. It should be somewhere between 13.5 and 14.7 volts. If it in the 12s the alternator is not charging and the cause needs to be determined.
