It's winter in Michigan. Can I drive in 4x4  all winter long or
will it ruin my car?

You most likely have full-time 4WD or AWD, meaning you can drive on all surfaces and at higher speeds than a true 4x4 drive, but check your owner's manual for proper operation, or on Jeep's web site: https://www.jeep.com/4x4/faq-and-glossary.html

Your owners manual will state it is okay to run "Full Time 4WD" year round under all road conditions. It will do no harm and it will help a lot in snow. BUT "Part Time 4WD" is to be used ONLY under extremely tough conditions. For ten years I have run my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Penna without any problems, and it has the same 4X4 system as yours. With good tires, these Jeeps are a Beast in the snow! Enjoy your Winter up there.
