Is the Fair Deal now a Poor Deal?

Asked by dpeachie Mar 20, 2015 at 01:04 PM about the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is a Red 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD listed on Guru  It is in
Collinsville IL.  You show that it is a Fair deal...( $550 above market value).  I looked
at this vehicle and they told me that it is stuck in 4WD and they think the problem is in
the transfercase.  Based on this, is this no longer a fair deal?  Knowing the costs that
it will take to fix this, shouldn't this be reflected in their price?  It's already $550 over
market value and then another roughly $500 to fix the 4WD.    Just thought I'd ask
since you're probably not aware of this when you rated this deal. Based on your rating
of $550 over price and another $500 mechanical problems, seems like it is now $1150
over priced.  I know they won't come down $1150 in price.

"They Think the problem is..." such an unknown. Personally I wouldn't touch that deal with an 11 foot pole.
