Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Here's maybe a challenge for y'all. My truck is a 02
Chevy Silverado v6 4.3 liter & it's running awful. At
an idol runs rough,hi rpm's at 3,000 + runs
smoothly. Let off it wasn't 2 die . Does the same n
neutral. Put it in Drive with the foot on the brake,
push on the gas and it wants to stall and die, does
not go past 1000rpm & n reverse aslo. Codes pop
up p0101 & p0300 . IV checked the distributor cap
rotor and wires plugs. Don't know what 2 do now. I
would like to get some of advice seems like y'all
know what y'all talking about.

I'd ignore the P0300 (random/multi-cylinder misfire) code and concentrate on the P0101 (Mass Airflow Sensor Range/Performance) code. Sounds like the problem is with the MAF or it's circuit. Inspect the wiring and plug going to the MAF and test the MAF. If you have one of those aftermarket cold air intake set ups on it, remove it. The oil for the air filter will contaminate the MAF and cause trouble. Also you can clean the MAF with an aerosol can of cleaner designed for this. It's available at your local auto parts store. Most likely the MAF problem (P0101) is causing the misfiring (P0300) which is why I said to ignore the P0300 code. If you have over 100,000 miles on your Silverado you're due for a tune up as well.
