Rough idle

Asked by Kevin Jan 22, 2019 at 12:00 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LB RWD

My 4.3 vortec is idling rough and jerking until I get
it up to speed, low compression,  I changed the
plugs and they were dry. Check engine light code
said misfire on cylinder 5...my daughters mother is
in prison and I can't afford to replace every little
thing until I find out the right fix

So a friend of mine who's on vacation originally did the compression test who said it was low so I did the test and on all cylinders I got between 115-120 without a fully charged battery
