Chevy 1996 backfires when accelerating then dies

Why dose my truck backfire under hood
when i give it gas and dies out when take my
foot off of gaas.?
Its seem like its not getting gas

Check fuel pressure. It needs 60+ psi to run. anything less will cause the truck to run badly or not at all.
