1988 Corvette Headlight Motor Keeps running..... Need Help!

When I turn the headlights on or off the driver's side keeps running for maybe 5 seconds or so and then stops...  Any ideas on what this is?  It works great, the headlight pops up when it's supposed to and then tucks down when turned off.   Just have this problem...  It's like the gear or motor doesn't want to stop running.  Is there an adjustment or some fix that I need to perform?   Help!

My 1992 does the same thing, I think it runs extra for adjustment purposes.

Just a guess here but the motor probably has an internal timer or limit switch. If it is worn or out of adjustment it could be the cause of your issue.
