Car dying/stalling

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car runs great, except...(BMW 330Xi)
I will start my car and reverse. I go to put it in drive and it
dies. I start it again and more times than not it dies again. 3rd
time i let it idle and put it into drive. A few times ive had to
gun it as i put it into drive cause when I backed out and it
stalled, i stopped traffic (embarrassing). Please help

Oh...and we changed to fuel filter and checked the alternator and its working fine.

When was the last time you replaced the plugs and wires? Did you check for vacuum leaks?
