When my son took the doors off his 2000 wrangler sport, the dome light stayed on and drained the battery. how do you fix this?

you need to disconnect the switches at the door jam. You wil see the switch sticking out between the two hinges on the body

What I've done to mine is to run the wires to a toggle switch, and completely done away with door switches! It will take a little time but will remedy those problems!
